"Orex vom Schwarzen Brink is a powerful male with an impressive West German working pedigree. Orex passes strong pigment, sound temperament, and excellent working drives to his offspring. Orex's titles and scores include the following: IPO3 (98-97-95), FH (99), FH2 (98). At the 2000 FCI FH2 World Tracking Championship (Bad Doberan, Germany) Orex scored 96 and 97 for a total score (193) that was only two points away from first place."

Ari shows the best of both lines in his ability to work and be a loyal freind to our family and do his work on the farm. He has earned his CD and we are working towards our CDX in open. He has recently earned his CGC and his TDI to start his work as a therapy dog in our community.

 Ari is a very calm and gentle guy who loves his children and is a constant protector for them. He can often be found sitting and watching over his children as they play. He is a loyal protector on the farm keeping stray dogs and coyotes away from the chickens and horses. He is a top example of what an ideal shepherd should be and do with his life. He scored consistantly in the 190's with our high score being a 198, can't get much better then that! Earned his title in his first three shows!

Ari is a long coat shepherd, which is an acceptable coat for AKC and SV standards. Long coats were once bred for in Germany to increase hardiness in cold European winters. The long coat is a resessive gene, which means that both parents must carry the long coat gene to produce long coats in their offspring. Many breeders still consider this a fault, but they are not looking at the total dog. A dog as well bred, well structured and good tempered as Ari should not be overlooked becuase of his coat.

Ari is a certified Therapy dog through Therapy Dogs International. We have joined with The Grand Traverse Pavilions to help assist the elderly. We will be working with those gravely stricken by Alzheimer's and dementia. We know that his peaceful and loving demeanor will give comfort to others. I feel privileged to have a dog as calm and loving as Ari and am humbled by his peaceful manner. I am only his handler as he spreads his peace and love to those around him, to help bring them some comfort in their progressed years. This is a path that I have been called to follow and with Ari's love beside me I hope that I can fulfill my duties as a volunteer.
